Emails about the past
We absolutely love receiving emails from those who share a past with the farm… each message seems to uncover another piece of its story—little details and forgotten moments that somehow find their way back to us.
Hi, Jennifer! My name is Gloria Rogers and I live with my husband Richard in Resaca. I just wanted you to know that my husband is a descendant of Mr. Thomas Rogers who was married to Miss Josephine Bray. (Mrs Minnie Jones sister) Thomas and Josie had 9 children of which Willie newton Rogers was my husbands grandfather. I don’t have much ancestry of the Brays side of the family but my husband has two aunts who are still living but both have dementia and are in The Fountains here in Calhoun. Nena Maye Rogers Walraven and Bobbie Rogers married to William Stanton. They spoke of their aunt Minnie Jones and the Daffodil Farm on many occasions. My husbands father was NF Rogers who was killed in an auto accident in 1989. He worked for years for Max Brannon and sons. Melonese Rogers was his mother who passed in 2006. She worked for gentle Lee and max at the flower cart for years and also dolly west when she had a shop. She has also done work for Charles T Owens in the past. When we married in 1971 she owned her own shop in Chatsworth. Rogers Florist. My granddaughter had pictures for her senior year taken by Andy Baxter a few weeks ago and you had some of her pics on your Facebook page. She was ecstatic! She loves the place and was tickled when I explained they were her ancestors also! I’m so glad it has stayed in the family, and I’ll include her pictures so you will know which one I’m speaking of. Mattie Victoria Davis. Names after Mattie Victoria Holcomb Rogers, who is my husbands grandmother who married Willie Newton Rogers.
